It is designed to produce crisp impressions with less effort than the handheld seal. The desk seal has a sliding lock mechanism which makes for convenient storage when not in use. It creates a raised seal impression on the paper. The desk seal can also be used with an impression inker (not included) to darken the seal creating a photographically reproducible image.
